Unsearch offers a feed of news, regulations and reading for the sectors and areas of expertise you choose. This page explains common situations and gives the support address.

Creating an account and signing in

You enter the app by creating an account with your first name, last name, email address and a password of at least eight characters; you can be signed in with the same account on several devices. If you see “An account with this email address already exists”, use the Sign in tab. If you see “Email address or password is incorrect”, type the address and password again; up to ten attempts are allowed per minute, and when the limit is reached, wait a minute. “Could not connect” means the server could not be reached; check your internet connection and try again shortly.

Language and location

The first time you open the app you choose a language (English, Deutsch, Español or Türkçe) and, for English, a location (USA or UK). Your choice sets the app's language and the local news and regulations you see; global stories are the same in every language. You can change it later in Settings.

Creating an account and signing in with Google

When “Continue with Google” is offered on the sign-in screen, choose your Google account. If you do not have an Unsearch account, one is created automatically after verification; no separate registration form or password is needed. If you created an Unsearch account with the same email before, enter your existing Unsearch password once when linking for the first time. After that, your linked Google account is enough. If you cancel, you return to the sign-in screen.

Creating an account and signing in with Apple

When “Continue with Apple” is offered on the iPhone sign-in screen, confirm with your Apple Account. You do not need an existing Unsearch account; one is created automatically and no separate password is required. You can share your email or use “Hide My Email”. Use the same Apple Account to sign in again. If you have a password-protected Unsearch account with the same email, enter your Unsearch password when linking for the first time. An account created with a hidden email is not merged automatically with an older account that uses a different email. For an account created with Google, continue with Google. Cancelling takes you back to the sign-in screen.

Forgot your password

For an account created with Apple or Google, sign in with the same linked provider account. If you forgot the password of an Unsearch account created with email and password, there is no reset link because the app does not send email. Write to the support address below from your account's email address; your account will be closed and you can create a new one with the same address.

Offline use

Creating an account, receiving new records and checking your session need the internet. A session verified within the last 24 hours can open bulletins stored on the device when the connection drops; the session is checked again once you are back online.

News, regulations and reading

News arrives through scans during the day; regulations and reading arrive with daily publications. Regulations follow your location: each location has its own official sources. Every record links to its source; open the source for the full text. If the source page has an image, a small preview appears in the row. The feed is filtered by the sectors and areas of expertise you choose in Settings, and you can change them at any time.

Notifications

When new stories arrive you get a single notification; its text is the headline of the newest story, and tapping it opens that story. You can turn notifications off in the app's Settings or in the iPhone's Settings › Notifications.

Saved items, notes and PDF

You can save a record and add a note; long notes are shortened in the list and shown in full in the detail view. You can share the daily, weekly or a chosen date's bulletin as a PDF; the PDF contains the summaries of the records and their source links.

Signing out and deleting your account

Sign out closes the session on this device; saved stories and notes stay on the device. Delete access removes your account from the server and the session key, saved items and notes from the device, and cannot be undone.

Support requests

When you write, include the app version, your iPhone model and iOS version, the error text you saw and the time; a screenshot helps. Never send your password, session key, Apple password or verification codes. The reply goes to your account's email address.
